2014 Lunch with New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio On November 19th, a small group of Italian-Americans joined the IADLC hosting Mayor Bill de Blasio in Washington. The Mayor spoke about his successes in New York City introducing mandatory Pre-K and promoting Democratic Values. The IADLC has been a supporter of his campaign and administration since the beginning.

2013 Ethnic Day at the White House ![]() President Obama’s Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting Ben Rhodes, among senior National Security Council Staff, and staff from the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs and the National Economic Council briefed around 100 ethnic American leaders on the Administration’s policies regarding immigration, healthcare, the economy, and foreign policy. In addition to Italian Americans, Albanian, Arab, Armenian, Bosnian, Croatian, Greek, Irish, Hungarian, Macedonian, Polish, Serbian Sheikh, Syrian, Turkish, Ukrainian-Americans attended the Forum, among other ethnic leaders. The IADLC thanks the White House Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs for organizing this forum to engage in dialogue with all of these ethnic American communities.
2013 Reception Honoring Secretary Leon Panetta ![]() On October 26th, the IADLC honored Secretary Panetta at the home of Tony Podesta. We named him "Italian American Democrat of the Year" and awarded him the first annual "Leon Panetta Statesman Award" for his life lifelong dedication to our country, as well as his leadership in bringing Americans of diverse political backgrounds together to protect our security, our rights, and our environment. We were also joined by Arizona Attorney General Democratic hopeful, Felecia Rotellini, who discussed her upcoming race and our Vice Chair Jim Rosapepe highlighted the crucial upcoming House and Senate races for 2014.

2012 Democratic National Convention Reception
In 2012 we co-hosted our reception honoring the Italian American delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte with the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF). Jim Messina (Obama’s Campaign Manager), Congressman Bill Pascrell, Congressman Frank Pallone, New York Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, and Wisconsin House Leader Peter Barca were all there to support the IADLC and to encourage us to mobilize Italian Americans this election season.
