March 6, 2012 - Italian American Steve Ricchetti, a well-known Democratic lobbyist, was hired by Vice President Biden as a counselor. Ricchetti, of lobby firm Ricchetti Inc., has not been listed as a lobbyist for the firm since 2008 and therefore will not need an ethics waiver to serve in the Obama administration. Ricchetti was deputy chief of staff to former President Clinton and senior advisor to the presidential campaigns of Sen. Kerry (2004) and now-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (2008).

January 4, 2012 -- Pascrell Faces Primary Challenge After Redistricting: Rep. Steven Rothman will challenge fellow Democrat Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. in the New Jersey primary, a messy consequence of that state’s redistricting. Rothman will move to Englewood and take on Pascrell in Pascrell’s district, which was redrawn in mid-December to include parts of Bergen County. See story here.
