Domenic Recchia for Congress (NY-11) Election Day: November 4, 2014 Domenic Recchia is a second-generation Italian-American on his father’s side and third-generation Italian-American on his mother’s side. His maternal great-grandmother was from Palermo, Sicily, and his paternal grandfather emigrated from a small town outside of Naples. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to his heritage throughout his work in public service. Domenic helped build the Federation of Italian-American Organization to build the first Italian-American cultural community center in New York City, “Il Centro,” located in Brooklyn and projected to open fall 2013. As the Chairman of the Finance Committee for New York City, he secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds to help the efforts of Italian-American organizations throughout the city. |
