Nick Casey for Congress (WV-02)
Primary Day:  May 13, 2014
Election Day: November 4, 2014

Nick Casey may not sound like your typical Italian-American, but he has deep, proud Italian roots. His mother Alia Burati’s family emigrated from Perugia to America in the early 1900s. Nick’s grandfather, Giuseppe, came to West Virginia to work as a marble-cutter on the state’s capitol. Nick married his high school sweetheart, Mary Frances Panzera, both her mother Isabella Femia and her father Carmelo Panzera families came from Calabria. Nick, Mary, and their two children all reside in West Virginia. Nick was honored to keynote the Martinsburg/Hagerstown Sons & Daughters of Italy dinner last fall.

Nick has spent his life fighting for the people of West Virginia. He has served as the chairman of the board of St. Francis Hospital and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Project HOPE, and Appalachian Service Project. He is a certified public accountant and lawyer who has spent the majority of his career in the private sector and as such knows what small businesses need to excel in this economy. Nick is ready to use this knowledge and has a plan for making West Virginia prosper through creating jobs, building a strong infrastructure, balancing the budget, and developing a comprehensive, efficient, and sustainable energy plan.

Fellow Italian American, Senator Manchin endorsed Nick early, describing him as having a "never give-up attitude" and being “a great problem solver”. He commended him for being a loyal friend and ally for over twenty years.
